Customer needed custom
tools for precise placement

"The
fact that SAS Automation came to our facility and
engineered a part just for our application proves
to us that they understand EOAT like no other
company"
“A
key component to efficient manufacturing of our
fittings is our automation equipment. Prior to
contacting SAS Automation, our automation
processes were sorely lacking – both in poor
part placement and robots dropping parts. After
SAS evaluated our production challenges, their
engineering staff was able to engineer their GEP
gripper (making it non-rotational), just for us
– that now saves us money day-in-and-day-out. We
credit our efficient robotic operation to the EOAT
engineering provided by SAS Automation.”
“SAS Automation
has impressed us with their knowledge of robotics
and engineering capabilities. Our prior tooling,
did not meet our expectations. We now completely
understand the benefits of having a company that
manufacturers
tooling as their primary expertise.”

Provide end of arm
tooling to: 1. Remove 4 parts from mold without
any marring of surface or crushing of parts. Part
must be cosmetically perfect. 2. Reduce overall
cycle time.
Comment:
“Not only did
SAS Automation design and build end of arm
tooling that accomplished the objectives, but it
increased my productivity by 30%.”
“The process
was easy and efficient. I contacted my local SAS
representative who came to our facility, took
digital photos, and obtained mold drawings and
samples. The engineers at SAS performed the
design and sent drawings to me for approval.
After my approval, the finished product arrived
over a week ahead of schedule.”
“The product
design and execution was excellent, and their
field installation service was phenomenal! It
has now been running flawlessly for over 6
months. I would highly recommend SAS Automation
to any company using automation to increase
profitability. I will definitely be using SAS
for future projects!”
Provide support for a
launch of 45+ tools at a new facility in Romulus,
Michigan.
Comment:
"It
is rare that a vendor has the foresight and
flexibility to assess and then provide the
necessary support during the high level of
activity and emotion that often encompass a
program launch. I want to thank you and your
staff for remarkable responsiveness and
expertise when we called for your “out of the
box” support during the recent launch of 45+
tools at our new Romulus, Michigan facility.
Your placement of the SAS installation
van directly at our plant, equipped with an
array of components and the technical guidance
of your sales
executive so that our
engineers could quickly build End of Arm
Tools on-site, was brilliant and critical to
a successful launch. Plastech’s association with SAS
Automation continues to provide smart, efficient
solutions for maximizing the capabilities of our
robots and teaching us best practices for
automation."

Urgent replacement of
another mfg's EOAT components
Comment:
"SAS
Automation has provided very effective
End-of-Arm Tooling support for many of our
facilities."
"Situation:
One of our plants had multiple ineffective and
unreliable End-of Arm Tooling, when I was
informed of the situation, SAS was the first and
only call I made. The SAS
Service Van rolled
on-site with the modular End-of-Arm Tooling
system and began tending to our situation. Given
the short notice (short is an understatement)
any components not on board the service van were
readily available for same day shipment. The SAS
standardized modular End-of-Arm Tooling system
not only worked for this urgent situation, but
will reduce future downtime and the number of
components vendors."
"The
quick response by the experienced,
knowledgeable, and efficient staff at SAS had
our urgent situation resolved before it became
an emergency and put us in production quicker
than anticipated."
